I have a irregular menstrual , and I need to get pregrant help!!!?!

Question: Hi am 27 and I have had an irregular menstrual since I was 12, sometimes I go 2 years without it. It will only come on after I go to the doctor and get birth control. The doc told me that my body produces more male hormones then female. But I had a baby when I was 16 while my period was still irregular. I am now engaged and my future hubby wants kids..I want to be able to give them to him naturally. I am prett healthy over all I make sure I take a multi-vitamin, drink plenty of water, and exercise reguraly. I have not been on any birth control for a year or more and the last time I had a period was last year around this time. please help I do know it can happen but how long will I have to wait.. or what can I do to speed up the process.. or maybe become more regular without birth control.. that is designed to prevent pregrancy...Please Help!!!

Irregularity usually signals that your body is not ovulating. Especially to the extent you mention. Too many male hormones will prevent your body from releasing an egg every month. Excess male hormones often signal a condition called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Some symptoms often include:

- Irregular menses
- Acne
- Multiple hormone imbalances
- Weight problems
- Infertility

This is not a complete list. I would talk to a gynecologist. Keep in mind though that not all women with PCOS cannot become pregnant. It is often times harder for them and some doctors will prescribe fertility drugs like Clomid to stimulate ovulation. Good luck!!

birth control will definitely help you. talk to your gynecologist.

Metformin might help if you only have hormones problem. But, if you don't have your period because you have ovulation problem then you should get help from Reproductive health department.

you can try birth control but that does not always work! I have found this web site that list all the herbs that help with fierily! You need to check it out it has really helped me! I have been taking vitex, maca and primrose oil and I ovulated on my own this month! i dont know if i am pregnant or not but I fell much better! I should start any time now!
