Premenstrual dysphoric disorder?!
Question: Hey everyone. Well i think, well im pretty sure i have ppmd. I have all the symptoms and i get terrible before i get my period. Im 17 years old, ive done research on the topic for many days now, and my mother wont take me to the doctor. I over react on everything, i have anxiety, cry 24/7 during that week, i feel depressed, and much more. All the symptoms are there. I know i have to go to the doctor, but i would like a women who has it, view on the matter. Also my boyfriend gets scared sometimes cuz i get to be such an emotional wreak, and also sometimes i dont think he understands.

PMDD is a very real disorder. It's not just you being a little irrational during your period. It is the result of your hormones causing your brain chemistry to be off. It is something that needs to be treated by a doctor. There is absolutely no reason you should have to go through that every month. Antidepressants can be prescribed to help, as can certain birth control pills. You need to stand up to your mom and tell her you NEED to go to the doctor to get this straightened out. You're going to be an adult soon and your mom needs to recognize that you know there is a problem going on and respect that and help you solve it.
