Reguarding Abortion?!

Question: Now, I know this is a touchy subject, alot people disagree with this procedure... but it was nessecary, because the fetus that was growing was already very ill and it was the only thing I could do.. soo please no rude comments.. it was a very hard thing to go through.

December 15th I had an abortion.. and I have still not got my menstral cycle.. I've done many many pregnancy tests... and I'm not pregnant.. I just dont know why it's takin so long.. do you think there could be a problem due to the procedure? I dont have any medical insurance at the moment so I'm unable to go get myself checked out right now... ( I',m in the process of getting insurance.. ) but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.. if it's just going to be very late.. or what. I've had messed up cycles since I was young ( not getting it for 3 months... ) So .. Idk even know what my question really is.. I just am kinda curious. Please again, no rude comments. I'm still heartbroken by this.

abortion is definitly a touchy subject, but to let you no that i am completly for it and im glad that there is an abortion option out there, and to also say i admire you in wanting to talk about it as it must be a painful subject for you.

i had a friend who had an abortion and she didnt have her period until 2 months afterwards. in all honesty i really wouldnt have a clue, but to settle your own worries i would seriusly recommend going to the doctors and have a chat. there might even be webites dedicated to this to help you. I really hope your ok.

My friend went through an abortion and it took her 5 months for her menstrual cycl to comeback. It just sometimes comes late. When u get your self medical insurance, I would still go see a doctor. Good Luck! Just smile! =)

As the foetus was ill I think you made a very brave deciison and I understand your heartache, although I suspect a few people will still be mean towards you.
I would suggest that it si still your body settling down and your hormones getting back to normal this can take a while, so don't worry too much yet.
My thoughts are with you.

I know that those who had abortions in the past have been able to have babies later on, so I would just accept the lack of periods as being normal until I learned differently. I don't think you need to defend your decision to get an abortion. It obviously was a very painful decision. Stop beating yourself up and remind yourself every time you feel guilty what you saved that person from. I think it's good to give yourself time to grieve, and of course you will have problems with guilt occasionally. However do not own the guilt. You did the best you could. No one has the right to expect more than your best from you. Not even you. If you want to write me I would be happy to support you through this. My address is msspelled@hotmail.com
may you find peace

I am sorry you had to go thru that. But, they should've put you on BC. You should go on BC so your periods will be regular.

Didn't they schedule a follow-up exam to make sure everything went right? I would go back to wherever you had it done & tell them. Good luck.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. Abortion is a very difficult decision. I personally am against it but I cannot judge you for that. The abortion can cause damage to your body, too not only the unborn child. It is not a natural thing, so your body doesn't know how to respond. Give it some time. You should get on some birth control. This would help not only to regulate you, but to avoid an unwanted preganancy. And definately get checked as soon as possible.

Go to the docters to get a follow up exam, and to see if this is normal.

First of all I am sorry for what you've had to go through. Second, your body will take a while to get back on track. It was a huge thing that happened. I would say dont worry about it too much. But when you do get insurance get in. Good luck.

I went through an abortion back in september and the clinic arranged a follow up appointment, it should have been the same for you because tissue could still be inside. But i had a period in december and haven't had one since (not pregnant) the doctor just said it is my body getting back to normal. But i would go back to wherever you went through the procedure and ask for a follow-up exam!
