I have a bad pain in my abdomen can it be a urinary track infection?!

Question: Kim, urinary track infections (UTIs) do not usually cause pain in your abdomen. The pain is usually felt in your back, below the waistline on either side of the spine. UTIs also normally cause intense burning when you urinate.

Luckily, there is an inexpensive way you can test for a UTI. Every pharmacy sells test-strips that will determine if you have a bacterial infection in your kidneys or bladder. They work best with the first urine in the morning: bacteria has a chance to grow during the night - when you don't pee as often.

UTIs also may cause your urine to be cloudy, if you pee in a clear glass you should be able to tell.

I hope you feel better. Worrying about your health is no fun.

Hmm.. I suppose it's possible, but it could be a number of other things as well, including a hernia, which may be a serious condition.

If the pain is not going away or is worsening, then you should see a doctor to pinpoint the problem and begin treatment for it.

Good luck.

could be. usually UTIs cause pain while you pee and make you have to go all the time. some people have pain just above their pubic bone, in front, right in front of the bladder. UTIs can ascend to your kidneys and cause pain in you back/sides below your ribs. it's easy to have a doc diagnose one and easy to treat.

could also be many other things... good luck.
