Can tampons come out on their own?!


Question: can tampons come out all by themselves? If I put one in this morning, went to the bathroom a couple of hours later, reached for the string and couldnt find it, is it a possibility it fell in the toilet without me noticing?

you would feel the tampon coming out if it did fall into the toilet. Best suggestion is if neither you nor your partner can find the tampon, see your health care provider. It is important to do this, because the tampon will smell bad and because there may be a small risk of infection (including TSS) if the tampon is left in for too long.

Luckily a tampon cannot get lost in the body. The opening at the end of the vagina (the cervix) is much too small for a tampon to fit through. The tampon is held in place by the walls of the vagina until you pull the cord to remove it. A tampon cannot get
