YES! I could never even get my pills unless I got a pap every year!! You need to go and get that done ASAP! I get my evey year at the same time and this year its came back stage 3 per-cancers cells!! It went for nothing to stage 3 in one year so it very important to get your paps every year!!!

Not if you dont care about cervical cancer

When you reach 25 you will be sent infomation and a request for you to book a smear test. Although if you are already sexually active you should consider having a smear test before then as you could already be at risk of getting cervical cancer.

good luck

you should have one they find pre cancerous cells ask your doctor or nurse about getting one they women of the age 21-23

Once you are sexually active it is important to have a smear test done. Until then you are not at risk of developing cervical cancer. In the UK all women over the age of 21 are called automatically but can refuse the test if they aren't sexually active.
If you are under this age and sexually active you can make an appointment with the Practice Nurse or doctor who will do the test.

You mean a PAP smear. The human Papilooma virus is easy to spread and hard to get rid of,a pap smear is a microscopic examination of the tissue inside your vagina to make sure no viruses are present.Once you have Sex with someone it spreads rapidly, through semen and vaginal secretions. If you value you and your partners's health you should get it done annually.Often it's the first place Cervical cancer is discovered.

In the US, the general rule for women is that they need to go to the gynecologist once a year starting when they become sexually active or when you turn 18, whichever comes first. A Pap smear (what you're referring to as a smear test) is done once a year to check for abnormal cells that could indicate pre-cancer or cervical cancer.

Even if you've only been with one person, you're at risk for HPV and therefore cervical cancer. HPV can be spread just through sexual touching, and condoms don't fully prevent its transmission.

You (and your mom) should be going annually to a gynecologist. Hopefully your mom is, because at her age she should be having mammograms done too to check for breast cancer.

Your regular doctor may not have said anything because the two doctors generally work separately, at least in my experience. They only time I've discussed anything about my gynecologist visits with my regular doctor is when I've had a health concern I think he should know about. If you're still uncertain, ask your doctor about it the next time you see him.

every woman should have one every 3yrs if you are sexually active or in a relationship, be safe, you should ask for one. im 53 i have them
