Can I take my birth Control?!

Question: I've been on the pill for many years now, and my periods are pretty much regulated; I start every 3rd tuesday of the month.
I started spotting last sat (3 days before I was suppose to start). The spotting stopped by monday morning. I was waiting to start the regular flow of my period on Tues. but nothing. I took 2 pregnancies test (just in case) and the results were negatives.

I should be starting my next batch of birth control this sunday...but I havent technically had my period just that spotting during last weekend.

Is it okay to still start my birth control like usual?

It should be perfectly safe. I have occasional (rare) episodes like this, with early little spots and no real period, then back to business as usual the next month. I have been on birth control pills for almost 2 years now. If you feel particularly ill or miss your period next month, I would call your doctor, but otherwise you should be fine.

But if you are worried, feel free to call a doctor, nurse, or the help line that is listed in the booklet for your pills. Those people are all there to help you. :) They can probably reassure you better than we can!

yes, dont skip any days, call your doc if you're worried about something.

yes

yes, you are fine, and if it really concerns you, no one knows you better than your doc.

Yes you should, that's what my doctor has told me. If it keeps going like this and you are concerned, I say just phone your doctor or usually in the box that the pills come in there is a small booklet. In the booklet there should be a question phone number or a website

Good luck!

Definitely start it as usual. Because you don't ovulate on the birth control pill, you can have spotting occasionally that is just withdrawal bleeding. I had it about one out of every four cycles on my pill, even though I was generally pretty regular. You probably didn't start regularly because you were spotting prior to your placebo pills. Definitely give your doc a call if the spotting is troublesome or you don't get a period next month.

Birth Control an be tacky... and more than often tricky.

The pill is especially tricky due to the fact that if you become sick and throw up, chances are it wont work.

If your worried about the level of protection your getting i'd recommend getting implanon. A plastic rod inserted just under the skin, its 99.7% effective.
