you're not supposed to leave it in for more than 8 hours, but i fell asleep with mine once... so it was in me for over 12 hours.. and nothing happened, but i think that really depends on how heave your flow is. if it's really heavy then you might get it faster you know? But from what I heard it's pretty hard to TSS... even if you leave it in for days. I think your body will just push it out if you leave it in for too long. haha but don't experiment !

Depends on the woman - it can differ depending on age, and just how they react to the tampon - for some, it might be 8 hours, for others it might be more than 24 - you won't know until it happens.

... i dont think that there is a certain amount of time its just the longer you leave it in there the more likely you are to get TSS

It doesn't have to do with time. It's a bacterial infection. It's related to tampons removing the healthy barrier of moisture in the vaginal canal, so the bacteria can easily get into the skin.

a day or two.

You should never leave a tampon in more than 8 hours. Any longer than that and you are inviting toxins to build up. Keep "Miss Puss" fresh, as the little old lady once said...

you really shouldnt leave it in for long periods of time, yet i do it...i think the rule of thumb is to not use them over night and to change them every few hours, that is why there are different size tampons really, so if its a light day, dont use a super because if you have to change it within a few hours, that;; hurt pulling it out..

Doctors say that it is best to only leave them in for no more than 6-8 hours at a time. The larger the absorbancy of the tampon the more likely it is that you can get it so you have to be more carful. If you feel the sympotms of the flu go to the doctor ASAP!

like over 8hours
