The proper way of shaving anything is first exfoliate the area and keep it warm (like in the shower) Always shave with the grain first, i.e. in the direction the hair grows. Shaving against the grain first can cause ingrown hairs and razor
burn. For an even closer shave, re-lather and
shave lightly across or against the grain.

Avoid applying too much pressure on your razor since this is often the cause of razor burn and skin irritations. Always glide the razor gently over the area.

I have done this and it works great for both men and women!

That happens to me too

Wax?

Same thing happens to anyone when they start shaving anything - it's just an adaptation process. Keep shaving, your skin will adapt. Use a razor with shaving cream, not a shaver. This will hurt at first, but get better over time.

I find razors to be very irritating to sensitive areas. I was skeptical about waxing but now Im hooked! It is smoother and lasts longer and I dont get as much irritation.

It may b cause u cant shave there wit that kind of razor or it mayb the shavin cream or sopa ur usin. It may also be that u cant use a new razor there. Either way Im pretty sure all u have to do is rub a little lotion on it.

Good 'ole shaving bumps...I HATE THEM!

At a beauty shop called 'Sally beauty supply' there is this awesome product. It's called 'No bump Rx' comes in a green bottle. It relieves ingrown hair and bumps, and prevents bumps from forming. If you apply it every day it prevents bumps almost 100% and is a LIFESAVER!Don't use it RIGHT after you shave otherwise it will burn.It might burn the first few times you use it,but trust me,it's worth it!

oo no..
yea i would wax it off this will get rid of the iritation

I would definately try waxing - It may cause immediate discomfort BUT you won't have a lingering uncomfortable razor burn from shaving. You could always go all natural but nice n' trimmed!

Have you tried waxing, its much better!

yeah me too, i get dots and they really hurt, i hate waxing there as yes it does sting, i'm marking this as interesting lol i'm curious...

it happens to alot of people. It happens in the beginning; just keep on shaving and you'll get used to it and it'll go away:-)

its ok my g/f shaves hers off too so if you want you can shave urs off put thats your call I for one think it looks better clean shaved very easy to play with hehehe

You are describing razor burn. The best way to prevent this is buy using a shaving gel...they make it specifically for this area. Always use a brand new razor. Use as few strokes as possible. Sit in a warm tub for about 10 minutes before you shave. The hot water will soften the hairs. Clean the razor after each stroke. Sometimes going with the hairgrowth works better, but it will leave a little stubble. I like to apply aloe gel right after I shave. I use the same stuff that you would use for sunburns. It really helps. If you need to, they make clear diper rash ointment. I find that that can help a lot too, especially if you have to put your panties back on as soon as you get done shaving.

Receiving oral when you have razor burn dowm there, actually makes it feel better....the only time I find it hurts is if my husband hasn't shaved his face in a few days. Then the prickles from his beard hurt me. I make him shave before he is allowed to "feast". He is glad to do it.

If you must shave the area, shave in the same direction the hair grows. It won't be baby soft per say, but you won't have the annoying rash afterwards. A product called Bikini Zone works well after you shave and eases the irritation associated with it. You could also use a battery operated razor. They're sold at most department and drug stores. Again, shave in the same direction the hair grows. If you really want it all gone then have it waxed. But take some Motrin beforehand. It takes the edge off a bit...

Good luck!

Just don't shave it! Have you actually talked to your boyfriend about this? You shouldn't just assume that all men like it shaved. A lot of men find a natural vagina very arousing. Just keep it natural, maybe trim a little depending on how much hair you have down there, and just relax about it. If your boyfriend wants you to shave he'll tell you.
Plus, red dots and such not only look gross, but if shaving makes that area sensitive it's also more likely to get infected, which would just make matters even worse.

same thing happens to me. I want to try wax, but I am nervous!!
