you can wear a pad you are going to eighter choose to swim or not you have to use a tampon to swim go to beinggirl.com the have a video or use the instructions in the box ask a woman you trust or google it

Swimming with a pad would be quite uncomfortable. Were I you, I'd use this period to practice using tampons. There are diagrams and information inside the packaging that can help you learn how to insert them.

No, you cannot wear a pad while swimming. Not only is it unhygienic, but it is going to be like wadding up a sopped bath towel and stuffing in your underpants!

Go to http://www.beinggirl.com/en_US/goods_tam... There are also VERY explicit instructions included with every box.

The best thing to do is just practice. It may take a while, so use a smaller sized tampon with a plastic applicator till you get the hang of it.

NO you cant wear a pad when you go swimming!!!!

if you wear a pad when you swim, it will get in the water because the pad will absorb water when you get in.

buy plastic tampons because they are easier to use, and just follow the directions in the packaging. if it feels uncomfy, practice with a few.

also, if you are a virgin or otherwise have a hymen, your first time using a tampon will hurt.

nope. if you wore a pad swiming it would sweal up like a diaper. plus, blood would come out in the water. so, in the remaining days of this period, try tampons. start out with the lites and then move to the regulars. Playtex gentle glide. also, make sure it is a plastic applicator. and when you put it in, get it in as far as you can. It will feel odd the first few times. ask your mom for other advice. GOOD LUCk. and enjoy your cuise

No you can't wear a pad when swimming.
Tampon packets have instructions in them. Find a time when your not in a rush, your home alone and have plenty of privacy. And practice. Find a position that you feel comfy with, squat, sit on the edge of the bath, put one foot up on the end of the toilet or bath. The thing you need to try and do is take a few deep breaths and relax as much as you can so you can get the tampon in easily. It eill take practice but you can do it.
Good luck.

no u cant wear a pad while u swim if you do it will probly come apart in the water but go on tampax.com and they show u how to use a tampon there

Ok well first off I hope you have fun on your trip!!! Secondly, depending on your age your period could flucuate or it could be earlier/later then when it's really suppose to come. Wearing a pad when you have your period and trying to swim is a recipe for disaster! Trust me been there and done that, not good at all!! If your worried ask a trusted adult, friend, older sibling or parent *preferably mom*, and tell her your thoughts. Don't be shy/nervous because she was your age too....once!!

Good luck and have fun on your vacation!!

No... you cannot use a pad while going swimming.
sorry... i know it sux.

no you need to plug it up tampons are very simple go buy a box and try using them know while you are pregnant never insert a tampon inless you are having you period. make sure when you get out of the water you go to the bathroom and change the tampon asap or it will leak and all will see good luck just a suggestion when you get out of the water if you have to walk a small distance to a bathroom just wrap a long towel around your waist just in case but while your in the water you will be fine it will not leak at all its just when you get out

id like to add, someone said tampons will hurt if youre a virgin -not true, they dont go as far as the hymen.
and if youve done horseriding or somehting its probs already broken. im convinced mine went doing hurdles in PE when i was 12..

No, you can't wear a pad and swim, the pad would just soak up the water and not the blood. Tampons seem like a big, scary deal at first, but they really aren't. It's tricky your first few times, I used to get upset because it hurt cause I couldn't do it. Sit on the toilet and read the instructions a few times through, and the trick for the first few times is to stand with one foot on the floor, one foot on the top of your toilet, and stick in the tampon at an angle. Make sure you get it up enough. Hope this helps.

You might want to give your doctor a call and see if you can go on birth control pills; that will allow you to skip the "inactive" week, and thus skip the period completely.

If you decide to do that, then a little petroleum jelly or KY jelly on the tip of the tampon may make the easier to insert. I wouldn't try for a pad while swimming - it will just get soaked and be useless.
