Birth control periods..?!


Question: ive started birth control recently (micro whatever its called lol) and i had my last pill today soo my period should be tomorrow..what is the first one like? a couple of people have said tis heavy so should i expect it to be heavy/painful...? or should it be ok? thanks :)

First of all, don't be surprised if your period doesn't come tomorrow. It usually takes women a few days after taking the last pill for their period to come, and, in fact, since you just started taking the pill, anything might happen. It might be heavier, it might be lighter, it might be more or less painful, or you might skip it altogether.

Usually women report that they have less cramping and a lighter flow.

I didnt time starting my bc with when I should have naturally gotten my period but when it did come it was a little bit heavier but the cramps were killer. Then again, i think this is just one of those things that everyones body is different and reacts differently to the pill.

Typically your period should be a little lighter and last not quite as long when you're taking birth control. Everyone is different and everyone uses the pill for different reasons--birth control, obviously, but for teens who are bleeding every 2 weeks it's a way to control them, for those with acne, and even for those with extreme PMS symptoms including really bad cramps as the pill is known to make them less severe.
