When you start your first period it is completely down to you and your own body - it won't be affected by when your friend's start theirs.
What can happen though is that friends who life together, close friends, sisters etc can have their periods in sync with each other - I have two sisters and we all had our periods at the same time every month!
Thats ridiculous, each girl has her own period and it depends on her anatomy!
Yes. We just went over it in my human sexuality class. It is called menstrual synchrony. Where women being around each other, like friends will have their cycle somewhat in sync. Like when I was in marching band, mostly all the girls where in sync with each other and we knew that if one got it, we would get it soon.

girls wont START their periods at the same time, once they have thier period they can sync with friends and female family members of whom you are close to. me and my mum come at the same time now but we never used to! makes life so much easier lol, the men in the family get a bit of a hard time though :P
I heard its true, me and my best friend have our period at the same time, cuz we are always around eachother. also, at my work, all thegirls have there period at the same times.
Women can definately synchronize their periods. From what I've read and heard on the subject, it's the result of pheramones that your body releases. It's really quite an interesting phenomenon.

but ones youve started your period you may have your period at the same time as your best friends i do with mine lol
