Starting birth control pills late?!

Question: I know this question has been asked a million times, but I can't find one with the specific situation I'm in.

I usually start the pack on the Sunday after my period. I couldn't get my BC until the next Thursday. So, to catch up, I took 2 thursday, 2 friday, and 2 saturday, and now on Sunday I'm caught up.

I won't be having sex until two weeks from now. I THINK I should be good to not use a back up, but I'm really not sure, so I figure I'll ask.

You need to use another form of birth control for the entire packet.

You can only miss 2 days worth of pills before you have to either throw out the packet or start a new one. Since you missed 4 days, you should have just waited until the following Sunday to start the packet.

You can have sex, but you need to be very careful about it. Don't rely on your pills this month.

a

Taking 2 a day to catch up will not work.

yes, i believe you are caught up

don't do that. you need to use condoms for the entire pack, since you screwed around with it. you can't play "catch-up". for the next month, you need to use a condom as well...

I think the package will tell you to use additional protection until you've taken them for 7 days in a row. Since you will be caught up taking them correctly for more than 14 days in a row, you'll be OK!

Well, why don't you just use a condom until the following week just to be sure? I wouldn't take risks with those things!

you dont have to have a sunday start. just start the package from the day you started. it should come with day of the week stickers if you would like to start on another day.

I just found out that a friend's daughter was one of the one percent who get pregnant on b.c. pills. Since you didn't start this round of pills in the advised way, I would think you'd want to be on back-up birth control.

its always best to follow the directions on the leaflet that came with your pills. if you cant find it you can search the drug on line in google or yahoo.

i would use a condom to be on the safe side.

um....
