Help? This can't be DT's can it? I'm lucid and feel ok?!

Question: I had been working for 3 hrs without much of a break and it involved looking down into a metal shiny bowl (making spa bombs) when a moth flew up at me and I yelped! There was no moth, a few moments later it happened again.....yes I'm a drinker and my concern is DT's.I read up about them and this is the only symton I had....I'm also on high blood pressure meds and almost 50.....I'm thinking it was brought on by staring into the baking bowl.....I had not drank that day, but the night before, it also has never happened before.....should I be concerned?

i used to be a very heavy drinker, and even with drinking the night before, the next day (esp after a series of nights of heavy drinking) i'd often be really out of it at times, delayed reactions, hallucinations, and in an overall dreamlike (nightmare) state. you should be concerned; even if you feel lucid and ok. alcohol abuse (even as little as 3oz /day over a pd of years) can actually cause dementia, and hallucinations are included in those symptoms.

Perhaps you are susceptible to what is known as "second sight." Sometimes having this gift, but being untrained in it, is a source of considerable stress, which can lead a person to perhaps heavy drinking as a sort of self-medication (unwitting, of course).

Perimenopausal women are approaching a spiritually powerful time in their lives. If it were me in your situation, I'd take it as a sign that I need to explore spirituality in my life, and also reduce my stress so that making healthier choices (such as not drinking anymore) is more comfortable.

Just an idea, everyone's different.
