Teen breast reduction?!

Question: okay i'm 16 17 in July i am getting a breast reduction within the next two weeks. I am a 36 DD going to a 36B :) i weigh 180 pound but i also want a tummy tuck but i can't right now :(some questions

I am starting flag try outs Tuesday for the next two months my friend who also got this surgery three weeks ago is trying out so it shouldn't be a huge deal right?? because a flag weighs like less than three pounds
But what should i expect my mom got this surgery and she said i would be able to get the surgery on a Friday and be back in school Tuesday

Congrats!

You won't regret it one bit!

You should be on light activities for at least two weeks, maybe more. She should also not be doing anything heavy at this moment.

Both of you should wait until your incisions are 150% healed and closed, or else you could open your incisions and cause complications.

Also tell your mother that you should not be going back to school on Tuesday, four days after MAJOR SURGERY TIMES TWO! (Email me for more information, or have your mom email me)... I was off work for TWO WEEKS, you should not be lifting ANYthing heavy like books or your backpack!!!!!!!!!

Check out this site, it really helped me with my reduction:

You shouldn't have a reduction unless it is causing health problems. Be proud of what God gave you, he gave it you for a reason.

hmm idk...a breast reduction is a pretty big operation. i'm getting minor knee surgery and im planning on staying home all week after surgery. but if you feel good, go for it.

Breast Reduction Surgery is MAJOR surgery...

I'm not saying not to do it... Just be aware...

There will be LOTS of scaring but that can be taken care of later...

You may lose sensation in your nipples...

Again, it is MAJOR surgery...

I am quite suprised that they are letting you do it at your age.

DD's are big but they are not LIFE THREATONINGLY big...

Personally... I would advise you to wait until your mid 20's before doing it...

But it is your body, you know the risks... I HOPE.

You will not be able to do the Color Guard in your condition...

They are removing a large chunk of you from your body...

You will need to wear special protective breast bandages... You will not be able to move around that much...

Every time you move your arms your breasts shift...

You are going to hurt like hell...

It will be IMPOSSIBLE to try out for Flags... IMPOSSIBLE...

I REALLY don't understand why you are getting the surgery...

YOU ARE NOT EVEN DONE DEVELOPING!!!

Your breasts keep growing until your 20's!!

Personally, I think it is the stupidest thing you can do...

But again, it is YOUR life and YOUR body.

Just PLEASE do research on the surgery!!

Just GOOGLE IT for Christ's Sake!!

You will be in a LOT of pain for a LONG time...

They are going to cut off your nipple and put it on the table while they carve out chunks before sewing you back together and sewing the nipple back on...

MAJOR SURGERY...

This isn't just a 10 min, outpaitent sort of opporation...

Your recovery will be long and hard.

Good luck to you!

Breast reduction is very painful. We get these paitents on our floor after surgery and they are miserble. You will not be in any mood to throw flags around.

BTW, if you are 180lbs, losing weight will help with the breast size as well as the tummy issue. Also, when you go on to have children, you will not be able to breastfeed....even if the surgeon tells you you can. That is one of the saddest side effects of the surgery and the surgeons have no clue on how emotionally difficult this is to women. About 95% of all reduction patients are not able to nurse because the path ways for the milk to leave the breast are destroyed.
