What are my chances of being pregnant?!

Question: I was taking birth control pills for 2 months. I finished me second pack of pills and stopped taking them right after that, so I wasn't in the middle of a cycle. I had unprotected sex on my highest fertility day, just once and he came inside of me. I have taken 3 hpts and all of them were negative. I haven't been stressed out, no change in diet or excercise, and no weight gain or loss. I haven't had a period in 10 weeks. Could I be pregnant? Should I go get a blood test, or is it because I stopped taking birth control? Thank you for you help!

I would suggest that you do have the test done.

It's very possible to get a negative HPT, and more than once for that matter.

It could be one of two things here - either A) The fact that you stopped taking the pills could be messing up your cycle -or- B) You could be pregnant.

Like I said, I suggest having the blood test done, just in case - you never know!

Best of luck to you, and congrats if you are!

The pills or you could be pregnant. go to the doctor

you're pregnant

When you stop taking birth control pills your cycle is no longer regulated by them. So your body might just be trying to catch up. But there is a really good chance that you are preggo. Look for signs and go get a blood test done those are always accurate.

its prob the pills cuz they mess up ur cycle

Well, from a medical prospective, it is hard to pinpoint the exact cause. For the most part, home pregnancy tests are 99% accurate when they are done correctly. You must follow the instructions on the box. HcG (the hormone present when you are pregnant) appears in the urine around day 20-22 after conception. They say that you can take the HPT on the day of your missed period, but I would wait until 22 days after you had sex. If it is negative, then it would be safe to say that you are NOT pregnant. There are things that can alter the HPT such as certain medications, but those meds will be listed on the instructions of the pregnancy test. If you keep getting a negative test and it has been 20 some days after you had sex, then you are not pregnant. When you quit taking birth control pills it takes awhile for your body to regulate your cycles again. 10 weeks is a long time to be without a period even though you quit the birth control pills. I would recommend seeing a doctor just to be sure. I think you would have gotten a postive HPT though if you were actually pregnant. They are very accurate. Give it until three missed periods to see if something starts, but if not, I'd see a doc. Good luck!
