its probably the angle you're trying to put it in that is making it a problem. how i put it in, is run the tip of the applicator around my lips for a second just to create a natural lubricant, then put it in the vagina and slowly push it in, wiggling it around to find the angle in which it will insert.
for ME, it is back around 45 degrees and a little to the left (if sitting) or straight in (when i'm standing with one foot on the toilet). you just need to find your sweet spot.

and make sure you're not using a tampon too big or too absorbent for your body. better to replace it more often than to use one too absorbent, considering that raises the risk of the tampon toxic shock syndrome.

Try tampax pearl. You might also be a little dry and not be able to put the tampon in.

tampax pearl has a easy smooth plastic applicator that is easy to put in. you are probably nervous and clenching your vaginal walls that makes it difficult to put the tampon in, so try and relax. insert the entire tampon applicator then push the bottom of the applicator up until it stops and has fully inserted the tampon, and pull out the applicator. it also helps if you put one leg up on the toilet. don't be afraid, you can't hurt yourself!

try a different tampon. I started with tampax pearl, and just keep trying.

you need to relax

i would agree with one of the ladies below. i would definately try a smaller absorbensy. if you have a virgin or tiny opening, a super plus absorbency is the way wrong choice. go with the lights or ultra lights first, then as you adjust, go bigger, based on your flow. also, if you've been goin at it, trying to get it to fit for the last 15 minutes, its not likely to get any easier. your body parts are going to start swelling. if you can, wait til tomorrow and give it a fresh start.

A;so try using a small amount of KY Jelly on the end of your Tampon or by rubbing some on the opening of your vagina

i use ob, its really small and has no applicator. i feel no applicator lets me direct where the tampon is going. just relax and spend some time trying. don't get frantic!! when you put one in, if ur muscles are tense it won't go in all the way, so relax!! the first time of putting one in kills, but aftr that it doesn't at all.
good luck!!
