What is wrong with me? (Kinda long, please read)?!

Question: First I'll let you know Im already out of school so I dont need to talk to a teacher or anything lol & I know you all are not doctors but you might know

-- MOST Thing I do is skip out letters some one wrote "I love my new monitor" And I read it as "I love my new Motor" I have 2 reread it more than twice!

-- I have a hard time reading out loud. I refuse to do it because I am scared there will be a word a head that is too big for me to read ( Meaning I dont know how to pronounce it or what it is)

-- When I do read to myself I have to read it OVER at least 3 times and I have to have Silence to atleast try and understand it.

-- Sending out emails I have to go over it MANY times b4 I send it to make sure i didn't skip any words

--I skip at least 2-3 words at a time. Example: The paper says "Hey how was your day, are you ok?"
Me reading it: "was your day ok"

-- I also mix up letters I see 213 instead of 123

you are probably dyslexic.
x_:)_x

Sounds like it could be dyslexia, check it out.

mild form of dyslexia?

I am not sure.

it sounds like you are dyslexic, or have a sequencing problem. You may want to get tested, just so you know. Good luck!

Omay gosh, thats weird! I thought maybe you could be nervous, but if it's in e-mails too, meaning not infront of people, then i have no idea what it could be. When did this start? like recently or were you like this your whole life? Hmm..weird, might be dyslexia? But if it just started..maybe not

Sounds very much like dyslexia. Dont worry about it, a lot of people have it. I would visit the doctor and see what help they can offer. Also tell someone close to you whats goin on. Your not abnormal or anythin! Some of the cleverist people have dyslexia. Its just one of those things! Good luck xxx

Could be dyslexia, but it might also be related to insufficient sleep. For example, if you wake up feeling tired, or someone tells you that you snore, or wake up gasping for breath during the night, this could all be symptoms of sleep apnea. And if you have this disorder, it is hard to put words together in your mind because of being sleep deprived. At least I know how you feel because I have the same problem and it is quite embarrassing. So if it's not dyslexia, look into other causes.

Sounds to me like you have some general literacy issues, (understanding bigger words) dyslexia, (mixing the numbers) and attention problems (requiring silence). All I can recommend is working with a vocabulary program, and that will only deal with your literacy, it won't help dyslexia or focus.

IT JUST SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED GLASSES, GO GET CHECKED OUT.

dyslexia, you should see your doctor because these things can be reversed

Im afraid you have genital warts

I agree with the person who said you should get your eyes checked--not just a simple vision test but a comprehensive one to see if there are any gaps in your perception.

If your eyes are fine, it sounds like a learning disability of some sort. The cheapest way to get it diagnosed is to re-enroll in a school, particularly a good community college that has strong resources in this area. Otherwise, you can go to an educational psychologist who can do the testing. That person could also advise you about strategies to mitigate the problem--for example, maybe you could get a text reader on your computer, a piece of software that will read what you've written back to you so you can quickly tell if you've left anything out. An educational psychologist might also know what employers are required to do if you have a documented disability. If it's documented, you are covered by the Americans With Disabilities Act, and they should provide appropriate accommodations (e.g., voice recognition software you might need for work).

This is not a catastrophic problem--lots of people have it. The main thing is to find ways to manage it.
