What are the risk if your body doesn't get the iron it need?!

Question: I am anemic, I have very low iron. I was prescribed iron pills but I dont like taking them because they send sharp pains through the center of my stomach. I've talked to my doctor about this and she said that my body just have to get use to the pills, but i really dont like the feeling. I was wondering if i stopped taking the iron pill what were the risk. Is death a possible risk?

iron is essential for red blood cells... they are the ones carrying oxygen around the body.... less iron potentially means less oxygen

and as you know people need oxygen to live

Another possible way to raise you iron is to consume lots of red meat.

my body doesnt get enough iron either the pills that my doc gave my made my stomach hurt really bad and made me want to puk every time so he started giving me iron shot im doing alot better with them.

less oxygen
