Women with IUD ONLY?!

Question: I got an IUD - Mirena. It seems as if my breast are more tender than usual for the past week. I have the IUD since late November so about 3 months. I don't have my period and don't know when is comming. Is the tenderness something you had to go through? It seems as if I had not notice this symptom before. Thanks.

i get tenderness to the extreme around what i am assuming is my ovulation. i haven't had a period in months (i LOOOOVE that side effect!!!). but the tenderness lasts about a week for me. if it lasts any longer than that i ususally take a preg. test a week after the tenderness should have stopped just to be safe.

I have had Mirena for a little over 6 years. I dnt get a period either, just light spotting around my "time of the month" sometimes. Also sometimes get some of the menstrual symptoms such as breast tenderness and bloating, the usual. I think it's the best birth control I've ever had though, I love it. Any more questions feel free to ask :)

I just had the same one put in exactly a month ago!!! My "side effects" was that I was extra sensitive emotionally. They say your body has to get use to the foreign object it may take anyone 3-6 months to be "normal".
So you're still in the not knowing zone

The Mirena can cause that because it still has a low dose hormone in it. If you haven't had a period in 3 months, you could very well be pregnant.

You should definitely go back to see the doctor if you think you might be pregnant.

Otherwise, your body just might need a little more time to get used to the IUD. Maybe gIve it another month or two and if it is still bothering you, you may want to try another method.

Many women get breast tenderness before and during their period and it has nothing to do with an IUD.
