What is the reminder pill for?!
Question: okay so i have just started my birth control pills "loestrin 24" and i do not know what the reminder pills are for
do you need to take them?
my physician did not fully explain them to me..

They're placebos, sugar pills. As reminder pills, their only job is to do just that...to REMIND you to take your pills every day. Might seem strange, but habits are easier to learn and keep up if you never stop. So instead of taking a week off with no pills, some of them have the reminder pills so that no matter what you always take a pill at the same time every day. It helps make it easier to remember to take the active pills.
to remind you. to keep you in the habit of taking them. they are just like sugar pills. :)
The reminder pills are there to REMIND you to take a pill EVERY SINGLE DAY, so you start your next pack on time and remember to take a pill daily.
Those pills don't have any hormones in them and allow your body to have a period. While you don't HAVE to take them, it's a good idea to take them to keep yourself in the habit of taking your pills on time.
The reminder pills have no value in aiding against pregnancy. They are there to keep you in the habit of taking your pills so that when it is time to start the 'real' pills you do not forget. i suppose it is so you develop the habit of taking a pill every single day.
