Epidural...?!

Question: When I had my c-section 5 months ago and they were administering the epidural they hit a nerve and it sent an eletrical shock all the way down my back. When I started getting the feeling in my back again it felt like I was walking with a needle in my back, now I just have unbearable pain,I have to lay down to relieve some of the pain, but it's still astrong pain. I went to the Doctor and she won't give me any answers I lose feeling and mobility in my right arm and leg. Also went to a Nuerologist and he just tested the nerves in my right hand and left foot and found nothing wrong. Has anyone else experienced this?

Please no smart a$$ answers they are not appreciated.

Ouch! Sorry your doctor's not being very helpful. Nor is the neurologist. The epidural would have caused damage to the nerves near your spine, not in your hands and feet. He was looking in the wrong place.

Keep looking for answers. Just keep dogging them about it until someone steps up and figures it out. And you may want to go ahead and call a lawyer. If they hit a nerve and nobody bothered to do any follow up care, you may have a pretty good malpractice suit.

You poor thing! You need a good attorney to help you. You are a victim of medical malpractice. You doctor is afraid to talk to you, which is pitiful, since they should be trying to help you. Also, get another neurologist and be sure to explain about the botched epidural. Good luck and take care you!!

I had an epidural go wrong, and had shooting pain in my hip..... These are the risks that they warn us about prior to appling the epidural, and the fact that we consent to the procedure means we accept the risks.....so no lawsuit here.
The fact that you are not paralysed is the main thing...the pain should resolve gradually over time.... I would imagine your nerves are a bit "bruised" or "battered"....but not damaged as such.
Hang in there.....try pain relievers like ibuprofen.....
And maybe see an osteopath/chiropractor as well..... birth is a traumatic experience for the body, and maybe you just need your bones/muscles to be realigned!
good luck..........all new mums experience aaches and pains over the months following the birth.....and being tired doesn't make it any easier to tolerate!
