Irregular periods at the age of 40?!
Question: My friend is 40yr old having two kids who are 15 and 16. since 6 months she is having irregular periods. some times early some times late. She is not on any medication, but she has micro adinama since 4 years not over weight.

Perimenopause is the time when the woman's body begins to slow down hormonally and prepare for menopause. Irregular periods can be one of the first signs of perimenopause. So can extra-heavy periods, hot flashes, thinning hair, and dry skin.
Some physicians will do blood tests for FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone), estrogen, and progesterone. The purpose of FSH is to stimulate the ovaries to release eggs. Estrogen and progesterone help the uterus build up and shed its lining.
If your friend isn't having symptoms other than irregular periods, she probably shouldn't worry. My perimenopause began at about age 38.
She might have some depression.When you are depressed it can do weird thing to you body.But i would call a doctor just in case.
