Irregular bleeding or spotting
Nausea
Breast tenderness
Weight gain and/or water retention
Spotty darkening of the skin
Mood changes
If symptoms last longer than two or three cycles, it's time to see a doctor, but lots of women experience things like that when they start taking birth control.

The birth control pill is a safe and effective method of birth control. Most young women who take the Pill have none to very few side effects. The side effects that some women have while on the Pill include:

blood clots (rare in women under 35 who do not smoke)

dizzy, headaches, weight gain and it made the period I did get MISERABLE even if it only was 3 days long. No thanks! I stopped taking mine.
