Dr. Drew says too much will screw you up in the long run. Way more than your dignity being marred, the scars and tears do not heal. Yep. That means later, you'll have to put a cork in it... High price to pay for being trashed on, I'd say.
I don't think it is bad. As long as you are enjoying yourself. From the medical perspective, I think that there can be complications from having anal sex. Unlike the vagina, the anus doesn't stretch to accommodate a penis. But, I think it's up to you to decide.
It is a personal preference. I have heard that too much can cause problems later in life such as infections, fissures etc. I would try to keep it to a minimum considering that it was not meant for sexual pleasure.
