I find that showers are best. A lot of time when we stand up, it makes a rush of blood, as when you sit the blood can't flow out freely. When you stand, it opens everything up so that gravity can help drain everything.

As for gym class, you may want to use tampons. You shouldn't be embarrassed. It's something that will eventually happen to all of your classmates. I am sure that there are a few girls that wish that they had their periods.

u should take a shower and clean the vaginal area and also don't be afraid to ask the gym teacher to go to the bathroom to change your pad/tampon

Tell your mom
when you have gym, get your mom to write a note so you dont have to leak...
its normal for young girls to have irregular flows...
just remember! your period is nothing to be ashamed of!

It doesn't matter whether you take a bath or shower....whichever you prefer.....just have a good "slosh" around your bits before you hop out! Sometimes if you've been wearing a pad or leaking, a bath is nice to soak all the matted blood off......
Do you use tampons? They are very convenient, and you can wear them as well as a pad if your period is really heavy to buy you a little more time between visits to the toilet.... Also more discreet to have in your pocket at school. SOmetimes when you get your period you may be too weary or crampy to participate in gym class....if this is the case, ask your mother to write you a note to excuse you from gym....invent another reason to tell your friends if you are embarrassed....9forgot your gym uniform, or something).....
it's a horrible time growing up, but we've all been there, and we'll all get there......chin up!
Good luck

a shower always helps me. and put the shower head on your area and will make it feel really good. and your period flow will go down as you get older, it's just because your a begginer. and you need to get an overnight pad and some heavy flow tampons and you will be safe!

Well I'm just a couple years older than u and I got my period in 6th grade! Don't worry about that! Anyway, ive never taken a bath when my period was on....doesn't the water get bloody?? So I recommend showers. Take a nice long bath when it goes off though, you'll feel clean. During gym just take it easy. I know it can be especially stressful if it's coed. But overall just don't worry about. Your growing up and your period is a sign of that!! Just don't grow up to fast! :-)

Showering is better than bathing when on it. Also try a heavy tampon with a pad too so you don't have any leaks. I bet other girls in your grade have started too but are just very good at keeping it secretive.
