Pain/Cramping in abdomen?!

Question: So since Sunday morning I have experienced VERY SEVERE cramps in my abdominal area..sort of like in the pelvic region. The pain is so bad!! It is a constant pain, and then about every 15 minutes it will suddenly get much worse for a couple of minutes, then, it will go back to the regular pain that isn't as bad, but still hurts. Im also very nauseous and having lower back pain. My dad talked to an OBGYN and they said it might be an ovarian cyst, but I have no clue if this is it or not. They said if it is an ovarian cyst, all I have to deal with is the pain--So my dad perscribed lortab which I will start taking later today. Is there anything else that this could be? It almost feels too high to be my ovaries I think..but I have no clue.

I would say that you have an ovarian cyst. I've had cysts and the pain is definitely severe. My pain is in my abdominal area between my hips bones all over. Many doctors say that the pain will be on one side or the other, but that wasn't the case with me. My gyno told me that your brain doesn't detect pain in the actual ovary...just in the general vicinity which is why some woman actually have the pain in their back or legs. Cysts are nothing to really worry about as they are normal and usually go away on their own.

PS - watch that Lortab...it's a narcotic and can become addicting.

Maybe the possibility of a stomache ulcer? You probably do have an ovarian cyst, they are very common.

ive had an ovarian cyst.

and ive had pain in the ovary area.

if you know where they are, if its coming from there, it could very welll be a cyst.

i would schedule an appointment for a sonogram.
if u dont know where to go for that, talk to your doctor.

it doesnt hurt to get this done.
its just uncomfortable because you have to drink A LOT of water, and hold it in for awhile.
while they use this thing to lightly push around to look inside.
after that they let you use their bathroom.

then they can tell if you have a cyst.

most cysts dissolve on their own
but if they dont they can grow bigger.

so they might schedule another appointment a month from them to see where its at.
