Inserting a tampon for the first time.?!

Question: I'm fifteen. Everyone uses tampons. I'm sick of gross pads. I think i've really made a mental thing about the whole tampon thing. I find it kinda gross, but i just want to use them. I have tried using them before but can never fully put them in and it starts to hurt. I have tampax pearl ones, which i have heard are the easiest to use, but when i insert it, would it be better to do it slowly, or fast?

okay honestly, this sounds a little weird, but when you first put it in it feels like it'll just hurt more and more, but really, once you get past like the first one or two inches, the pain completely stops and it glides in smoothly.

after a few times of putting them in, it won't hurt anymore.

Depends I would think just whatever comfortable to you. ask your friends

You're supposed to do it slowly. I'm 13, and I got my period when I was 11. I started using tampons when I was 12. Yeah, it was really young, and I was so scared. But like I'm not a pro at inserting tampons (lol) so sometimes you have to try again. DO NOT DO IT FAST! That's like..dangerous haha. Just Google it..Follow the directions and it's really not scary at all. (:

First, use the smallest ones they make, like a slim or mini or whatever they are called. That will make this much easier! Then follow the directions. Once you get past a certain place, it won't hurt. Everytime you use one, it gets easier. If you can REALLY feel it, it's not in far enough. Good luck!

if it hurts when you go so far in, i think you need to get a smaller one. when i first started using them i had to use the smallest ones because regular hurt me. So try going a size smaller and if that doesn't help try going slower.

follow the directions about how you should put one foot on the toilet, etc... the position of your body does make a difference b/c you should be a little tilted. if you are not positioned correctly, it will feel uncomfortable. if you can feel a tampon once it's inserted then you need to start over.

Put it in at a pase that is most comfortable to you. whether its slow or fast thats up to you. Start out using the smaller type of tampons. It will hurt a little and feel uncomfortable the first few times using them but after that its okay. If the tampon is in and it hurts then you do not have it in the right way. Once it is inserted all the way correctly then you shouldnt be able to even feel it. Hope I was at least a little bit of help.
