Faint line on pregnancy test?!

Question: i took two pregnancy tests last night.both had one bright pink line, and one very faint pink line. what does it mean?
i last got my period, i started it jan 15, 2008. i was supposed to get it last wednesday.
i had an abortion december 26th, and a nurse said it could just be that i still have the pregnancy hormone present in my body. whats going on?

and please, i would apprecaite it if you wouldn't comment if you are going to be rude about my choices, i dont want to hear it and its very ignorant.

i had a miscarriage in july of 2007 and i had my period at the end of august but it took till the middle of september (or the end, i cant remember) for a test to show negative. this was because i still had high enough HCG levels in my body that it would show up on a HPT. if you had the abortion at the end of december then it is still possible to show a positive pregnancy test untill the beginning of march. after that i would begin to worry. maybe you should go to the health department and get on the birth control pill after you find out for sure so that you dont have this scare again. best of luck to you.

i think you are pregnant. God bless

congratulations your pregnant. Even if the line is very faint its a yes.
You will just need to get it confirmend now at your doctors.
Good luck

I've always heard there's no false positive on a pregnancy test, so if you have a line you are probably pregnant. Probably better get to the doctor. Good luck.

so if you had an abortion, why are you still taking pregnancy tests. didn't you learn about birth control the first time?

It is too soon to take a pregnancy test and it be accurate to NOT be pregnant. You should wait at least 10 days after you are due to take it the first time - and then again at 14 days if you still aren't sure.

When they say the test is accurate in just a few days - it is accurate to BE PREGNANT - NOT to not be.

If you want an accurate test - go to the doctor's office. You could still be showing signs of your previous pregnancy, but not likely.

Depending on how far along you were when you had the abortion, it's possible that your hormones haven't returned to your normal (unpregnant) level. Also, the whole ordeal may have your cycle screwed up, and it may take awhile before it becomes more normal/regular.
If you continue to have problems and feel your present healthcare provider isn't addressing your concerns, get a second opinion.

Since it's been two months since your abortion, I don't believe it is possible for the pregnancy hormone to still be in your system. You can get a false negative on a pregnancy test, but a false positive...never happens. It would be safe to say that you are pregnant again. Take another test in a week or so, and see what it says then
Good Luck

I guess it could be leftover hormones, but it is probably more likely that you are pregnant. The best thing to do at this point, is go to the doctors to be tested. They can test it by blood & get a definite answer. Or by urine. Good luck.
