Your mom is right on this one and should stick to her position. I know you don't want to hear this but you will appreciate that she is being a good mother when you become a parent.

The fact that you think there is a difference between 16 and 16 1/2 is one indication that your judgement, like your facial structure, is not fully formed.

What might help you, your mother and your relationship with her, are some sessions with a counselor who specializes in body image issues, to discuss WHY you want to get a nose job at your age. What do you expect to gain by changing your appearance, and are your expectations reasonable. Working through those issues now may help you in this discussion with your mother, and prove that you are serious.

Why do you even need one (alot of people voted they rather have there old nose back then the new one) I think u should wait and think about it=)

You should really wait until you turn 18 because they are right you are not done growing.

Well I personally think that 16 is just a tad bit too young. Your mom is right you're still growing and maybe your nose might change too. You never know. Maybe if you wait until 18 and if you don't see any improvements you can consider plastic surgery but ONLY if it's really needed. Plastic surgery is risky so it's your choice.

Good luck :)

the only growing you may do is your bust size and height your nose isn't going to grow anymore it's fine

yes yes yes and y would you wnat to

What do your parent's noses look like? If you have inherited an unusually large or mis shaped nose then there is really no reason to wait. If you have a pretty normal nose and want to change it for vanity reasons (nothing wrong with that but ...) then your Mom wants you to have more emotional maturity before you change your looks permanently.

There is a song line which goes: "Its just a permanently reminder of a temporary feeling".

Don't fight with Mom about this, do a lot of research on what can go wrong during any kind of surgery and see how you feel in another few months. What if you meet Mr. Wonderful and he thinks your nose is perfect just the way it is?

are you sure you have really considered the risks? they might mess up, you might have a bad reaction to it, you might not be done growing and by this time next year you will be hating how you look even more and have to have another one done. FYI just something to consider, i went to school with a girl that was in fifth grade she wanted something done with her ears. she begged and beggeed her parents to let her they finally gave in. she had a bad reaction to something that they gave her and it killed her. I would wait if I was you, and make sure you do your research.

Personally...I would wait until my face is completely finished growing. Things could change on their own between now & then. Or they could change after the surgery and make things worse by having to repeat the procedure. Besides, what's the hurry? There will always be plastic surgeons. In the mean time, there are many ways to change the looks of your face / nose without having surgery. Meet with a couple of different beauticians and see if there's a way you can apply some make-up to give the illusion of a different appearance. Try on different pairs of sunglasses, or change the color of your hair, these tips will help draw the attention away from your nose...Good luck to you.

Are you paying for it? I think you should wait. You are a teen, and you may feel occward about your body now, but may not in the future. I hope you understand the risks involved with getting plastic sugery, and that it IS a medical procedure. There is pain, healing and there could be a chance for infection. To me, there is no reason to go under the knife for plastic sergery. And anything you say to your mum about your looks and the like will never come out sounding mature. I mean, have you ever heard an older woman talk about getting plastic sergery? It makes them sound juvinile.
