I'm 13 and havn't had it.... Thank you! But i'm also scared because what if it happens at school? I mean, it could happen any second, and i'm so... jittery lately! I'm also kinda embarassed to tell my mom... plus dad knowing? OMFG!? HUGe embarassment. It'a one of thos ethings it's never semmed real... untill now. I'm not one of those girls that is excited to be, 'a women' and i think it's...scary!
and this is comming from the girl that has acted like a ... guy? for my entire life... it seems weird... why do we have to get it and guys don't? Growing up sucks!!!!! I wish life wasn't this hard! Any ideas to help? Thanks.

I didn't want mine at ALL either! And of course one day when I least expected it, it came. It was in the morning and I go to the bathroom first thing every morning and there it was in my underwear! I was pretty upset/mad because I did NOT want it at all and wished I could stay a kid forever and not have to worry about it. But, at least for the first half year I had it, it was very light and I had no cramping and it wasn't bad at all. Then they started getting heavier and I started cramping. So now I dread mine. But don't sweat it. Always have a pad or two on hand just in case you are cought with it in school or a public place. Usually your first one will be extemely light, probably won't even soak thru your underwear. Good luck and if you want to ask your mom if you can start wearing panti liners so you can be confident that you won't leak when it first comes and will buy you time to switch into a regular pad.

im 14, and i dont have my period. on the other hand, im excited, cause its a part of being a woman. growing up doesnt suck, as long as you dont grow too fast. and periods can happen anywere, they usually come at an isnignificant time, but hey, people live with it. and if ur so scared of blood, then how exactly are u gonna expect giving birth?? its much worse
periods are fun parts of growing up, and i am soon to have one.

typical mind of an immature little girl...you'll hit puberty and your thoughts will change and you wont be so scared.

Talk to your mom. There is no reason to be embarrassed. Moms are the perfect person to talk to about this. I have 2 daughters and we talk about everything. As for dad. Don't worry he prob wouldn't even acknowledge it because dads get embarrassed by it. If they don't admit it they don't have to see that their little girls is growing up. I can't stress enough Talk to your mom!!!!!!!!

this is 2008, it's life ,talk to mom or big sister.. even tomboys get the curse yes, it sucks i won't lie..just be prepared always have something with you ..

First off it's ok to be scared. i've had my period for three years and at first it was a little scary but it becomes very natural (i know that sounds wierd but it does)... and your right, it can happen anywhere, and trust me i know exactly what you mean, it's happened to me at some of the wierdest times, i swear... but if you want you can use a calander and kinda schedule when your period is gonna be when you first have it... this will give you a basic timing of when your going to have it and will help you be prepared... but know that sometimes its off.... and don't worry... it becomes less scary as you have it more... so don't worry yourself to much about it just yet....
