What does it mean when your gyno refuses to...?!

Question: give you a pap smear or pelvic exam because it hurts? I have an undeveloped vagina because my body doesn't produce any estrogen so I'm on hormone therapy(I'm 23)

I went to the free clinic and they guided me through it and gave me one!

that's faulty logic on the dr's part. lots of medical exams and procedures hurt, but they still do them. she (or he) should have done the exam at your request, even if all it did was calm your fears or anxiety. i think i would find another gynecologist who would listen to me.

Yes. It doesn't matter what developemental issues there are or aren't you still have female genetalia and therefor still have the risk of cancers, infections, etc. so you still need to get routine exams

hello: Yea I would definitely.

Yes, find a new gynecologists. If you are sexually active you should have an exam once a year.

find a new gyno. they should be able to work around your differences and be able to perform an exam and a pap smear with maybe some discomfort but not pain. how did they determine that you had an undeveloped vagina if they didn't do an exam? either way it is important that you have a pap test done, most especially since you are on hormone therapy. Find a new doc that takes your health as seriously as you do, don't end up with undetected cancer, infections, cysts and the like just because your current doc refuses to do the necessary tests

yep, find a new one.

if you dont produce estrogen, your low to no risk... but hormone replacement brings the risk up some.... hard to say, I am no gyno

what the !?
Sounds lazy to me.......Maybe go to a University Hospital where they also give free medical examinations...
GOOD LUCK!!!
