What treatments do i need since i have pcos?!
Question: I seen on here a couple time that if you have pcos you need treatment...I was diagnosed about a year ago and the only treatment my dr offered was birth control...I dont like that effects of birth control so I said no.Is there any other options for me..Im 18.

Normally there is a combination of medicines you take. I take metformin (it's a diabetes med, but it's approved for PCOS as well) and a birth control. There are other options as well and I know that my doctor mentioned some new combinations since the last time I was there. She also said something about treatment with just hormones back in the beginning instead of the birth control. I would advise you to call around and find a gynecologist knowledgable in PCOS (unfortunately not all of them are) and have some blood tests and see where you're at and waht they can do for you.
