What are you given for your severe period cramping. It's unbareable, and OTC!
Question: Period pain has gotten worse and worse the older I get. This time was so unbareable that I could not function for 3 days. I ingested over 20 advil & 5 midols a day & heat pad and it just didn't touch the pain. What perscription can be percribed for this? What do you use? I can't be totally out of commission 3 days a month.
PS - I don't have endometriosis. And I am tryng to conceive, so The Pill is out.

I have EXTREMELY horrible menstrual cramps (actually right now as we speak). My doc wrote me a script for "Ponstel." It's an NSAID similar to motrin but I guess it's specifically designed to target period cramps. Before I got this I would have to take 800mg motrin plus 2 extra strengh tylenols and it still hardley worked. This ponstel works ok... like I can tolorate the pain and discomfort but I'm still waiting for something to eliminate this completely.
Since you are trying to conceive and do not want birth control, you should discuss this with your doctor, because all of the medications that you have been taking for the pain is not good for your body, especially your liver. So you should see your GYN for this.
I have horrible cramps, my GYN told me to take 500mg every 12 hours of Ibuprofin starting 2 days prior to my period instead of waiting the day of....she was right, it worked so now I take it only 3 days instead of 5 and half the dose.
hello; I can totally relate to that and with the discomfort and cramping I was a heavy bleeder and was out for a few days.
tried Advil 500mg , Xstrgt TY, Xstrgt midols and nothing Worked for me till A nurse said try pamprin multy symptoms every 4/6 hrs it was heaven on earth . Hope this was help ful good luck
