10 day period on brith control pill?!

Question: it's my first pack of Loestrin 24 Fe, it's been a year since i used any birth control pills. i had a moderate flow period for 3 days and since then (it's a tenth day today) i'm having bloody discharge, which makes me change pantiliners 3-4 times a day. besides this i really like this birth control, i had a problem with mood changes and cravings with my old one and this one doesn't seem to do it. what should i do? my doctor gave me a priscription for Alesse, so should i start it next month instead? i'm just afraid that it affects my mood and diet....?

A longer period after the first month of a new hormone supplement is normal. Don't worry about it. You should stick with the same pill for at least 3 months to let your body adjust to something new before you give up on it and switch to something else. Too many changes in too short a time period will just confuse your body.

It's probably cause you startd birth control again. I've heard that can mess up the cycle completely the first few times.

It takes a few months for your body to regulate on ANY birth control pill.

talk to your doctor

That's a freakin' long period!!!

It's pretty common for birth control pills to cause breakthrough bleeding, particularly when your body is getting used to them. Since you say you're using pantyliners and not thicker pads, I would give it more time. Your body is probably still adjusting.

I spotted all the time with Loestrin 24 Fe. I don't recommend Alesse though - it has some nasty side effects. Try Ortho Tricyclen or Lo.

When I stared Lo-Ovral I had my period for almost a month. When I started Tri-Phasil I had my period for 2 weeks and I went directly from one to another. I would say that changing pills next month could make your period last longer again. If you like this pill so far why change so soon? Your period will regulate itself by next month. If it doesn't then change pills.
