I always find that putting some lotion on after I shave helps a lot.. (even if Im already broke out).. And try not to wear tight underwear.. Because they tend to rub that area and irritate it.

put as much lotion on it as possible, like i mean a LOT of cream
and try to go panty less, wear a skirt or if you're at home a loose pair of pants or pjs
reapply the cream as frequently as possible to help moisturize
don't rub or scratch

Use "coochie" or "bikini zone" lotion to shave with. Then lotion right afterwards with un-scented hand lotion (no sugar) or Summers Eve post-shave lotion. Use it right after, 12 and 24 hours after shaving and this dramatically reduces razor burn.
Or get a wax job.
