Is it possible for someone who is 27 to have ovarian cancer?!

Question: Is it possible for someone who is 27 to have ovarian cancer? I look at all the info on ovarian cancer and it constantly talks about going through menopause, being over 40, and things of that nature but nothing that says you can be as young as 27 and have it. Also have not had any kids and all the symptoms and signs are there. Would just like to know if it is possible.

Hey, I had ovarian cancer at the age of 25. When it was discovered it was in stage 2 level A. So, I tell everyone to go and get checked out.

Unfortunately, yes, cancer can strike at any age but of course risk increases as you age. The likely hood of you having it are very, very slim. Chances are that your symptoms are from something else so try not to worry. If I were you I'd get a physical to make sure everything else is okay though. Good luck

yes it is possible for someone 27 yrs. old to develop ovarian cancer. Not likely, but neverthyless possible. stay healthy by getting regular exams, pap tests and check-up's.

Of course it is possible. It is also more likely if you have never had kids. See you GYN

It is possible but unlikely. Go and ask the dr, I had this fear once and it turned out to be a hormonal problem.

Im with Julianna... Have it checked out by your doctor. They can run blood test to find signs of ovarian cancer.

I myself am going in to have an ultra sound on one of my ovaries. During an exam my doctor found it was enlarge and it was very sore/tender to the touch. So.. Im kind of worried about what all it could be.. :-/

Our bodies are incredibly complex. It's like learning English, there are always exceptions to the rule. So, saying that, If I had to guess I would say the probability of you having Cancer are infinitesimal. Most likely you are fine. If you are concerned though, and by writing this it shows you are, you need to be asking this to a doctor.
peace

You can have cancer at any age. The ages they list are typical ages...certainly not set in stone. See a doctor if you are concerned!
