My girlfriend is having her appendix out.....?!

Question: and I'm taking her to and from the hospital. She says she won't be able to do "anything" when she gets home, and not much the next day. What does this mean exactly? Will she need help-or will she just sleep all day like she has the flu or something? I really don't know what to expect. I'd appreciate some advice!

I had appendicitis (mine was ruptured though...) the next day I was pretty groggy and out of it.. I think for unruptured appendicitis it takes about 2 days to get back to normal again.
You'll probably need to take care of her during that time.

she means prolly that she won't be able to have sex or something like that, and yeah, she'll prolly lay around for awhile. she shouldnt be moving alot either so she might have meant that she won't be able to cook, clean or any of that sort of stuff too. just take care of her! God bless

She will have a small incision in her abdomen I am sure. So her doctor will tell her that the sooner you move about the sooner she will feel better. Rest is always important to recovery but if you want to help your girlfriend have her splint her incision with a pillow if she finds moving is painful. Let her move slowly but frequently and this will in the long run make her feel better. So if you wanna help her get her moving besides it will help wear off the anasthesia too!
