Help w/ spotting/period!?!

Question: I know i've asked a lot about my period. no one answers except maybe one person each time. But im new to all this new "womanhood" stuff. okay, so i got my first period ever last friday and its thursday today. Im pretty sure it stopped yesterday but i still dont know. All thats coming out is this light brownish discharge when i wipe. It stops at night and then while im at school it happens. Has it stopped or am i still on it? Just when i wipe theres the discharge and my pee doesnt have blood or anything. ?!?

so my period has stopped because its been doing that for a couple days now. So it technically stopped two days ago...but i am spotting for a couple days? will the spotting get shorter after the more periods i have?

Your period has stopped.

Menstrual blood oxidizes, or turns brown, when it's exposed to oxygen.

Certain hormones cause your uterine lining to build up, and certain hormones cause you body to shed it. Right now, these hormones are just getting started, with help from your hypothalamus and pituitary gland in your brain. Think of it as turning on a faucet for the first time--you'll have fits and starts, then it will run smoothly. This is what your body's doing.

Since it's your first period, your uterine lining is shedding more slowly, so the blood is staying in your uterus and vagina long enough for it to turn brown. This is harmless.

Unless the brown discharge is very smelly (like an infection), you may just want to wear thin pantiliners for a few days.

You may also have some red spotting in the middle of your cycle (i.e., between your periods). This too is normal. When your ovary releases an egg, it can cause cramping and spotting for a day.

You may have some clear or whitish sticky discharge a week or two before your period. This is normal. It means your ovary has released an egg and your body is making your mucous sticky so sperm can live longer and be more mobile in it.

your first couple of periods will be odd...it's normal, don't freak out. after awhile, things will become like clockwork. until then, make sure to have a tampon or pad with you just in case. also, maybe wear a pantyliner to school so you're not surprised by the spotting!

that brownish fluid is brown because there is just a little bit of blood coming out. I personally spot like that for a day or sometimes two after my period ends and I am 26. It is totally normal. You might think you have stopped and the next day you might have some brownish fluid again. Don't worry about it, because this is normal too. To keep from ruining your underwear I would wear a pantyliner for a day or so after normal flow stops.

right now your period is light. it is usually light in the beginning. It will get heavier probably, but women usually spot at the end of their period. Everyone is different, you'll have to wait and see.

yeah, ive had my period for like 5 years now and mine are still not regular and that happens to me alot. it's kool, definately the first few times and sometimes the first few years you have a period its all weird. its nothing to worry about. periods suck adn they are so crazy so just relax and try to not worry about anything. sometimes it might spot for like a week before and a week afetr, that happens to me sometimes so....yeah and the browinsh stuff is just older blood coming out. its nothing bad. i know when i first started my first entire period was brown, like the whole week, i was so scared i was dying lol, but its just like that at first. so, be kool, ur fine and it'll get easier after a couple of times. God bless!
