I think I have a yeast infection, what should I do?!

Question: It is this rash-looking thing that is really itchy, and it kinda burns when I scratch it. It's running from my belly button to my inner thigh. I showed my closest girlfriend and asked her what to do, and she said the best thing for yeast infections was a mixture of baking soda (for fresh smell), salt (to dry it up), and neosporin (to clear up the infection). I used it today, and it felt kinda weird and it made it burn. Is this a good remedy? Any other suggestions?

Don't scratch it would be even worse and that remedy will only make worse *** well and don't douche. You should go to a doctor to check for it.Some are the causes might be improper cleaning, wearing skinny jeans that are to tight and not wearing cotton underwear. to help prevent yeast infections EAT YOGURT and drink lots of CRANBERRY JUICE everyday and water as well.Promise me no more remedy's .our vagina's clean themselves everyday they are the cleanest organ in our body.if you use that remedy you only interrupt the pH balance and that is not good. So see a doctor.

try the over the counter ointment /cream Lamisil...

i think you should go to the doctor. it may not be a yeast infection if it is spread that much.

You 'think' you have a yeast infection. It would prob be a good idea to get a diagnosis, before you start aggravating the maceration.

Yeast infections characteristically have a milky/cheesy appearance. Google candidiases.

All in all- see your dr. Some clinical and lab tests can help determine the cause of your symptoms. Don't just rush to get over the counter meds though. Depending on the cause, you may even exacerbate the infection.

Have you taken any course of antibiotics prior to onset of these symptoms?

I heard that u should put yogurt on a tampon and insert it... Never tried but this is what i read and a friend also told me about it...

I wouldn't use the baking soda/salt/neosporin mixture. I would head to the doctor. Any time you experience something like this for the first time, the best thing to do is have a doctor make a proper diagnosis. If you don't know what it is, don't try to treat it yourself. Always seek the help of a medical professional. They can make an official diagnosis and give you the proper treatment.
