Why do I feel like I am losing my mind?!
Question: I am a 26 year old female. I am overweight and I smoke. Yeah, yeah I know I am not starting off well but... these things have not bothered me before. I think I turned crazy overnight. In Aug 07 I was walking my daughter to her class for the first day of school and began feeling very hot and dizzy. I tried to just stand still and cool off. When that didn't work I found a bathroom. When I walked in and saw myself in the mirror, my skin was beet red, my eyes were blood shot, my heart was pounding and I felt choked. I went to the schools clinic where I started to freak out and beg for someone to help me. They called 911. I thought I was going to die. I really felt like my soul was being ripped out of my body. I then started to vomit violently and there was a pain in my lower pelvic area like I had to "push". But guess what..?? NOTHING!! Several doctors have exhausted all medical tests. This same thing happened again in Nov 07, still NOTHING! Anyone go thru this same thing or am I crazy

i agree that it sounds like a panic attack. the first time i had one i wasn't feeling stressed out about anything that i was aware of. it hit me out of the blue. i had double vision, tunnel vision, i had trouble understanding when people were talking to me (it sounded like a foreign language) and i felt this unshakeable feeling of impending doom, like i was going to die and didn't know why. which obviously freaked me the hell out and watching cnn (weird, i know) was the only thing that calmed me. that was 6 years ago and thankfully, i've now got it pretty well harnessed and i can recognize the signs of panic and combat them before it develops a life of its own. it's frightening how physical it can become. i had one last summer and my legs and one of my arms went numb which really sent me flying! has it happened since? if it happens again i recommend seeing a therapist who can teach you some helpful breathing techniques to use when you feel the panic creeping up on you. i wish you the best of luck!
sounds like Panic Attack, they can happen out of the blue and for no reason
helloTtiff well i do not think you are crazy! mabe you suffered heat exhaustion! now in november i don't know !mabe check out a holistic docto! I ama NHC and i know a lot of times when the allopathic's sign you off and you go to a natural or holistic doctor they can diagnose you and help you to regain your natural state! You might just be having sudden panic attacks. Maybe you are stressed out. I'd suggest taking it easy for awhile. Take some time to calm down and just rest. I'd also suggest going to a spa to get a massage or something that will make you relax.
Sounds like anxiety or panic attacks. You might want to talk to a therapist about coping mechanisms and finding the source if possible of your stress/panic.
