Answers: OKay my mom says im underweight and that if i dont gain weight i have to stop being a vegitarian. Is this fair?

ok no its not!~/

im under weight too im 13 and weigh 74 pounds and i eat meat so being vegitarian has nothin to do with it, its probably just the way you are built. So stick up for yourself, and if you want show your mother this answer it might help.
and good luck! :)

how old r u

Yes. She's seeing an indication of your poor nutrition in your being underweight and is concerned not just for your current health but your future health as well.

she cant force you to eat meat

you shouldn't be something unless you know how to spell it

.. ok stop being a vegetarian.

eat some meat. its good. trust me.

or eat alot of grain products like rice

Thats stupid. First of all tho, how much do u weigh n how tall are you?

if ur kid then eat lots of stuff fattening, if ur adult eat regulary and gain muscle lol

sorry :(

She is your mom and she is just worried about you...you can't fight it moms always worry about their children....it's not really fair...if you are super underweight then she needs to get you help...but for some young girls they are just naturally underweight...especially at a young age.....so maybe just wait it out

yes. I am underweight and eats tonnes of everything and still feel like my weight is bad. If there is no medical reason you are thin then you can';t afford to be fussy about what you eat.

Plus bacon sandwiches=yummy!

No that's not fair. You can easily gain weight... there are products out there that help. Like bars, drinks. Healthy ones too. But why should she force you to do something you don't beleive in?

I don't know if I see this as unfair or not...

I understand that she cares. Being underweight can cause health issues and you may not be having the right nutrition.

If she thinks you're underweight, you should check your BMI online or see a Doctor if she's that worried.

It's like being over weight. The more underweight you are, the more it affects your health.

You mother is only worried about your health, so from all points of view, yes, it is fair.

Are you trying to stay underweight? If not maybe you should take some vitamins to help with nutritions your missing out on.

yes and no
you shouldnt be underweight.. shes just looking out for you

BUT her making you stoip being a vegetarian isnt the right thing.. since its your belief.... i thinlk you should just research ways to still be a vegetarian and gain some wiehgt.. youre probably not eating enough or enough of other things besides fruits/veg... eat meat, bread, potatoes, cheese, eggs.. i think itll help you gain some

being underweight poses so many risks. if you want to continue being a vegie, you should probably stalk up on your carbs and proteins a little more. Eating just lettuce and sprouts and like...bunny food, is not the way humans were created to live. In other words, eat more toast, peanutbutter, eggs, tofu, beans, rice......you won't get fat. youll just be healthier and your doc will most likely approve of ur vegetarianism.

Its ok to be a vegetarian....just do it the right way, or you face serious health issues.

No, it's not, that is your choice and she can't make you eat a poor dead animal if you don't want to.

But you as a vegetarian should know the proper substitutes for the nutrition meat and milk give you. I'm not a vegetarian, though, so all I know is that nuts and beans can do that. Look it up, I'm sure you'll find a good site.

You should probably tell us your height and weight plus age. My mom would tell me I'm underweight if I was 5'0'' 200 lbs and 12 years old. (she's just weird that way) LOL :)

It might be how much you eat. You can be a vegetarian and still be healthy. Only meat is out of your diet. Try eating more dairy and grains. (carbs)

being a vegetarian shouldn't affect your weight, i know this chick whose vegan and shes big (dont mean to be rude to her but she is very very big) you probably just have a high metabolism, check your BMI, if your underweight just eat some more

its a natural thing i know lots of girls who eat so much and never gain weight but dont get used to it as you get older youll start gaing that wight
