I had this myself several years ago. my Doctor told me it was an enlarged Bartholins Cyst and that if it didn't settle on it's own i would need to have it drained. it went away without treatment. Hope the same goes for you.
One possibility is that you may have felt the lower portion of your uterus called the cervix. Another possibility is that it could be a cyst (an example only).
The only way to know for sure what's going on is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think could be going on.
