Sweetheart...relax. I also have HPV and have had very minor cervical cell changes. I go for a pap test and colposcopy every 6 months to monitor those changes. Just make sure you keep all your appointments. You really have no need to worry. It was found very early and your doctors will stay on top of it to make sure it doesn't progress.

Your doctor would tell you if you do in fact have cancer. She's telling you that HPV is present in your body and that if left unchecked, it could possibly cause cervical cancer.

You caught this before it even turned into cancer, so the odds of this causing death is quite slim.

I had an abnormal pap a few years ago, they took a biopsy and foun d it was pre-cancer cells, I had cryo surgery done and have had normal paps for the last 5 years, I am sure you will be fine.

my mom had it when she was like 30...she had a surgery and now she is 45 and going strong :)

You should probably be asking these questions to your doctor. I doubt we have Ph.D's in medicine so honestly, ask your physician. You can still live a full life with cancer. I dont think a doctor wouldnt tell you something like that just because you are freaked out. You have the right to know, and they have to tell you.

There's no way your doctor wouldn't tell you if you had cancer. Having HPV does not mean you have cancer, or that you will die. So many women get abnormal results from their pap tests, but usually it doesn't mean anything more than having to go back for one or two more tests or perhaps some sort of surgery, and then getting regular tests. It's really distressing to get news like this, but of course your doctor would tell you if you really had cancer, and if she didn't say so, you don't have cancer.

you have abnormal cels which are not cancerous but you will have to have regular ladies check up you haven't got cancer i should know as i work for a doctor in london regards to you dont worry

Sweetheart. looking on the Internet their are loads of site about H.P.V. I know how you feel. just last year I was told i have Lupus and that affect all the organ in my body. i have been on cameo for a year and half now and Evey week i have to inject myself. don't be scared your not on your own.

Did you know that 80 % of women have HPV. It's not cancer. It's a virus. It increases your chances of getting cervical cancer. Don't worry. The doctor legally has to tell you if you have cancer. So far you sound like you're in the clear. Try and relax, stressing won't help you. Good luck!!!

i had the same thing when i was barely 18. the displaysia and abnormal cells was moderate/severe, and precancerous. i'm happy to say that after the calposcopy and treatment, i'm fine. i don't carry the virus and it's been almost 6 years. just make sure you keep going to the doctor and ask all those questions you are afraid to ask. knowledge is the key to understanding and protecting yourself.

Ask you doctor.
Why us?
We can't really help you.

didn't the doctor tell you. why would you ask us.
