Period Problems (Not Pregnancy Q!)?!

Question: I've been having irregular periods for like a 6 months to a year. Not the kind that NEVER show up. My periods are very weird. I start bleeding lightly(usually only enough to see when wiping) for what could be a week and a half, then I usually start my period for about 3-5 days, sometimes heavy sometimes not... Sometimes I don't even see my period after the very very very light bleeding.

Why in the world is this?? How can I get my periods back on track WITHOUT birthcontrol or medications??

I take Seroquel and Topamax, I just start Topamax a few months ago, so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Please help me, I'm afraid if I don't get my period back on track it will hurt my chances of conceiving.

I've had my period for 6 1/2 years.

How old are you? If you're still adolescent, your hormones may be all up and down and interfering with your periods.

If your periods are very irregular, sometimes heavy, sometimes light (and not just a bit of spotting in between ordinary periods, now) you may not be ovulating - and in that case I'm afraid you really need to see a doctor, because it *will* keep you from conceiving.

Best of luck.

its the chicken!

go to the doctor!!!

Talk to your doctor about it. Look at all changes including the medication. It can take months for a side effect (or affect, can't remember which on to use in this case) to occur. Some medications don't even start to build up in your system to work enough for a month.

Call "ask a nurse". If you don't want to go in just yet.

The best way of finding out for sure is by having your family doctor refer you to a gynocologist.
