PCOS help!!?!
Question: Hi I am 17 and my doctor wanted me to get tested for PCOS she took my blood and said that it was on the high end of normal. and wants me to go get an ultrasound. I do have a little bit of facial hair but not a ton. She put me on birth control right now. My question is does the hair groth get any worse than what it is now? And if my blood isn't abnomal does that mean I have it? Thank you soooooo much for your help!

My wife has PCOS. She is does not have any facial hair. As with all blood tests it will just lead your physician to do more tests (like the ultrasound). So please, wait until you get the results of that. If your only concern with PCOS is facial hair maybe you will be content to know that Dr.s administer hormonal therapy to help egg growth. In receiving those hormones you will probably have less facial hair (provided that it is not a hereditary trait). Rest assured, though, a LOT of women have a little facial hair, it's o.k. with the guys (in fact a lot of us like hirsute ladies). Besides, there are very many products on the market to help you.
My doc also said I was on the high side of normal and still diagnosed me with Pcos. I have noticed the facial hair getting worse over the years too. I know it sucks, but just hang in there. Try to get this under control though because it can hinder your chances of conceiving a child later on in life.
