Got period today. need help and advice?!
Question: eww i got it 2day. curse or not? i came out really dark...almost a brown. is that normal? i didnt tell my mom yet and i need help telling her. any other advice would help. thanks so much!

Pretty much all colors for a period are normal. Bright red, rust colored, dark brown, light brown, black-ish brown. I would only be worried if the blood came out "glow in the dark green" lol.
So, yeah, it's normal. You need to tell your mom soon, so she can buy you some pads. Just go up to her and ask her if you two can make a quick trip to the store, because you just started your period. She will understand, every woman in the world had this same problem when they were your age. She was probably nervous about telling her mom too.
Some other advice I have...
1. Once you do buy some pads, always keep some in your purse or locker at school, so that when you start, you will always have something.
2. If you feel ready, try using tampons. Start with Tampax Pearl. Tampons are a whole lot better than pads, trust me.
3. The last few days after your period, when you aren't quite sure if it's over or not, wear a pantyliner (small pad), just to be sure not to leak.
4. At night, sleep with a towel under you, so if you leak, it won't get on your sheets.
It could start out brown due to discharge and change to a red color. You probably dont want to hear this but you should tell your mom she probably would be a big help. It is a curse in my opinion it is a huge curse! you have to watch out for it and be careful not to leak. And you get bad cramps. I wish you the best of luck u r now a woman. and i think it's normal that it came out really dark because when i had my first period it was really dark too.it will probably change the next time;)
