I'm under my mom medical insurance, will she get billed?!

Question: I need to go to a women's clinic to get birth control, and since its so expensive i was wondering if i could use her GHI insurance (which i'm under) but im worried that she will find out. I mean i am 19 yrs old, and i dont want her finding out my business. i dont need anymore problems from her, especially if i can possibly be pregnant.

Her monthly statement may show that you went to the doctor, but it should not say what you were seen for. If you are worried about it, go to PLANNED PARENTHOOD. The people there are really excellent, and it is inexpensive. you do not have to use your health insurance there, when I first went there I was in your situation.... didn't want my parents to know. my first physical there was free, and the birth control i bought from there was only 14 dollars a month.... which depending on your insurance, could be less $$ than your prescription copay! they have the pills at the clinic, so you shouldn't have to go to the pharmacy. I would definitely reccommend planned parenthood, since you are worried about being found out through insurance.

yes she will know. the company will send her an explanation of benefit statement.

She will get billed since you're on her insurance & birth control is a prescription med. BUT I'm pretty sure anywhere & esp at a women's clinic, you can request to have it not billed-You still have to pay for it but it will not show up.

You also need to make sure the insurance will cover it & you are eligible for the benefits.

she wont get billed, its in her insurance plan. it is in her monthly{mabye monthly} bill. it MIGHT show up on what she got, but i highly doubt it.

I dont think she will. If your wooried about that then make a dr appt at the health dep. and get on them that way.

It sends a bill to her even if the insurance pays. r u afraid ur preggo & keeping it from her. b/c she should no. even if ur jus getting b.c. b/c its her insurance, ur HER kid, even if ur 19 its her business. get ur own insurance if u dont want her to no!
plus she can help w/ the b.c. thing.

what about like planned parenthood. i'm not sure you need insurance to get birth control there. anyway your 19, you go to the clinic, tell your mom your going for a check up, so when she gets billed shes not confused. They give you a Rx for the birth control when you get that filled nothing about that would show up on your moms bill from the doctor. Just go to your regular doctor, your over 18, legally your mom can't ask about medical records without your permission. So just tell her its a check up, she won't think anything of it.

you should go to a Health Department if you don't want her to know, they're not allowed to tell anyone if you don't want them to and they usually don't charge anything for young people. Good luck

Yeah, it's her insurance and sh'll get sent the bill
