Am i underweight? I am 16 yrs old. 5'5 & 114 pounds. Also i am trying to gai!


Question: No right? Thats average... Because I lost alot of weight last summer and ive been 114 for awhile now so i just wanted to know. Does anybody know the exact weight for teenage girls my age?? Do they have a chart or something i can read. Also right now i am trying to gain weight so at my size and age what type of things should i consume most of? Potassium, calcium, vitamin A?? what?

i would say ur perfectly normal, maybe a little skinny but a littel skinny never hurt anyone! i'm 15, almost 5'6 and 115 lbs. so if ur underweight i would be more so!!! lol
no really, if u want a chart try finding a bmi chart online that will tell you ur bmi for ur height and weight if ur 18.5 to 24.9 then ur at a healthy weight

yes you are a little underweight...it goes like this...
if you are 5 foot, you should weigh 100 lbs.
if you are 5'1, you should weigh 105 lbs.
if you are 5'2, you should weigh 110 lbs.
and it goes on and on...
if you havent figured out the pattern yet, ill explain it.
every inch after 5 foot, adds 5 lbs.
so ill continue if you still dont get it.
if your 5'3, you should weigh 115. get it? i hope so.

I'm 19 and I'm 5'3.
It wasn't until I was 17 that I reached 100lbs. right now I'm 5'3 and I weight 105 lbs. For your height and everything your perfect size.
Don't worry about what others think of you it only matters about how happy you are with your image, and you're healthy.

You are underweight. For teeage girls, at 5'0 the ideal weight is 100 pounds and for e very inch more than that you should be five more pounds. So if you're 5'5, you should be weighing 125, and so you're about 11 pounds underweight. Maybe to put on a little more weight you should add a little more fat to your diet. be careful when you do this though. you want to be the right kind of fat. try to avoid saturated and trans fat. Also, make sure if're youre not doing it right now that you have all your three vital meals every day: breakfast (very important), lunch, and dinner. if you don't eat you'll keep shedding those pounds, and in your case its probably not the best thing.
