When having your tubes tied?!

Question: How do they put you to sleep?
Do they put that mask on your face or through an I.V.???
And do they put that tube down your throat?

Tubal sterilization requires general anesthesia. Most of the time you would get some medication through the IV to calm you down and make you sleepy. Then, a series of medications is used to prepare your body for intubation (that's when the anesthesiologist or CRNA puts the tube in your throat). Luckily, you shouldn't remember much if any of this part, since the first medication usually makes you forget. But you do have to be intubated to make sure that you are put to sleep safely. The operation doesn't usually take all that long.

General anesthesia, a mask with the gas
yes and yes, can be both
yes if put under general b/c they have to secure an airway
RN

the wife had a C Section and while they was in there they just tied them and burned them. But I have heard they can go up through your whoya(I think it would be very uncomfortable)very close work doing that. They can also do just little cuts in get to the tubes. If they do a spinal they can get to them, that way you are awake just can not feel anything from the waste down.
